Welcome to Les Chênes Verts Bucaille, a bed and breakfast located in La Bastidonne, in the South Luberon, just a few kilometers from Pertuis, Ansouis, and Lourmarin. Véronique and Patrick welcome you to this family home surrounded by greenery, where they have lived since 1983 and raised their four children.

Since 2007, the house has welcomed travelers in four guesthouse rooms designed for two people. On nearly 4,000 m² of terraced land, you can enjoy a garden with trees, a large seasonal infinity pool, and an unobstructed view of the Luberon, stretching as far as Mourre Nègre.

Your stay is also an opportunity to discover a cuisine dedicated to fresh, local, and seasonal products. Breakfast is included with each room and, at the table d’hôtes, Véronique and Patrick share meals prepared notably from the vegetable garden's produce, depending on the harvest and the season.

The location of Les Chênes Verts allows you to enjoy the peace of La Bastidonne while remaining close to the iconic villages and landscapes of the Luberon. Lourmarin, Ansouis, Pertuis, and even Aix-en-Provence are easily accessible, allowing you to alternate between Provencal markets, village visits, heritage sites, hiking, cycling, and quieter days at the house.

Les Chênes Verts offers four guesthouse rooms for two people: Turquoise, Orange, Grenadine, and Aubergine. Each has its own ambiance while maintaining the warm and peaceful spirit of the house. During your stay, you can also enjoy the outdoor spaces and the infinity pool, accessible in season.

Everything you need to know about your stay

Depending on the chosen room, the atmosphere is perfect for a getaway for two or a stay of several days to discover the Luberon and its villages. The rooms thus provide a comfortable starting point to alternate between sightseeing, walks, and moments of relaxation in La Bastidonne.

Breakfast is included in the room price. It is prepared in the spirit of the house, with a focus on simple, quality products: breads and pastries from a local baker, homemade jams, Luberon honey, seasonal fruits, homemade yogurts, and hot drinks.

From Les Chênes Verts, you can easily organize your days between discovering Provencal villages, markets, hiking, cycling, or moments of rest by the pool.

Accessible directly from the house, it features individual air conditioning, a shower room with private toilet, and free Wi-Fi. Bed linen is provided and breakfast is included in the stay.

The location of Les Chênes Verts also allows you to stay near Lourmarin while remaining away from the village's tourist bustle. You can easily set off to discover its narrow streets, its shops, and the landscapes of the South Luberon, then return to the tranquility of the property at the end of the day.

In season, the infinity pool completes the stay and allows you to alternate between visits to the Luberon and moments of relaxation on-site.

Depending on the time of year, vegetables, herbs, and garden produce complete the meals served at the house. A simple way to find the flavors of Provence and the Luberon on your plate, throughout the seasons.

The table d’hôtes also allows for sharing a convivial moment after a day spent discovering the villages and landscapes of the South Luberon. It is offered upon reservation during your stay in a guesthouse room at Les Chênes Verts.

Mountain biking and cycling stay in the Luberon

The Luberon offers many routes to discover the region by bike, whether by mountain bike, road bike, or cycle touring. From La Bastidonne, the routes cross varied landscapes, between hills, small roads, Provencal villages, and natural areas.

Depending on your level and practice, it is possible to organize more athletic outings or more accessible rides to enjoy the area at your own pace. Cycling thus allows for a different way to discover the South Luberon, its terrain, its villages, and its landscapes.

For mountain bike enthusiasts as well as road cyclists, La Bastidonne is an interesting starting point for exploring the surroundings and varying the routes throughout the stay.

At Les Chênes Verts, Véronique offers workshops dedicated to the renovation of armchairs, chairs, and antique seating. Passionate about this activity, she trained with Lucien, a professional from Aix-en-Provence who is now retired, before taking over the organization and guidance of the workshops herself.

Discover the workshop

Over four days, participants work on a seat they wish to restore, whether it is a family heirloom or a piece found at a flea market or antique dealer. The workshop covers the main stages of restoration: webbing, spring fixing, lashing, heavy canvas, horsehair stuffing, applying various canvases, padding, and then the finishing fabric.

The workshops take place from 9 AM to 5 PM, with a lunch break, and are offered with full board. They thus allow for combining the learning of artisanal craftsmanship with a stay at Les Chênes Verts, in La Bastidonne, in the Luberon.

Since the launch of this activity, Véronique and Patrick have welcomed trainees from France, but also from Canada, England, Belgium, and Switzerland.

Les Chênes Verts offers four guesthouse rooms for two people: Turquoise, Orange, Aubergine, and Grenadine. Each has its own characteristics, allowing you to choose according to your preferences and how you wish to experience your stay in the Luberon.

Turquoise is the smallest room in the house. It measures 10 m² and is reached via the main entrance. It has its own shower room with toilet. Orange is the largest. It has a private entrance opening onto the garden, as well as a toilet separate from the shower room.

Aubergine also benefits from a private entrance. A French window provides direct access to the property's large tiled terrace. Grenadine is particularly distinguished by its decoration, redesigned by Véronique, who also handles the interior design of Les Chênes Verts.

All rooms are designed for two people and feature reversible air conditioning.

Can I enjoy a pool during a bed and breakfast stay in the Luberon?

Yes, Les Chênes Verts has a pool located directly on the property in La Bastidonne. Véronique and Patrick created it a few years after the initial work on the house. It was already present when they launched their bed and breakfast activity in 2007.

As Patrick is particularly fond of swimming, they wanted to build a pool large enough to truly enjoy it. The pool measures 14.50 meters by 7.50 meters and operates with an infinity system.

It is integrated into the outdoor spaces of the house, within a 4,000 m² plot of terraced land. After a day spent discovering Lourmarin, Ansouis, or the landscapes of the South Luberon, guests can return to the property and enjoy a moment by the water.

The pool complements the other outdoor spaces of Les Chênes Verts, notably the garden and the large south-facing terrace of the house.

What does the table d’hôtes at Les Chênes Verts in La Bastidonne offer?

The table d’hôtes has been part of the history of Les Chênes Verts since the beginning of their activity. For Véronique and Patrick, welcoming travelers also means sharing a moment over a meal. This approach matches the spirit of the house, where they like to receive their guests as they receive their friends.

Véronique prepares southern dishes inspired by Provencal cuisine. Some of the products used come directly from the garden cultivated on the property. Patrick grows various vegetables there according to the season: tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, zucchini, salads, fennel, beets, broad beans, basil, and even melons.

The vegetable garden was created after the launch of the guesthouse rooms. The nature of the terrain led Patrick to adopt lasagna gardening, a method that allowed him to quickly obtain good results.

The table d’hôtes thus allows for extending the stay in La Bastidonne around a cuisine linked to the garden, the seasons, and the culinary traditions of Provence.

On-site, Véronique also offers workshops for the renovation of armchairs and antique seating. These workshops take place over four days. They allow for discovering the main stages of restoration, from webbing to the finishing fabric.

Les Chênes Verts also has a ping-pong table set up on the large terrace. As Patrick practices this sport himself in Pertuis, he wanted to offer this equipment to guests who wish to play during their stay.
